University of Pittsburgh
Department of Business Management
Well, I've finally started to work in earnest on a personal site. It is a work in progress. I'm trying to keep it simple and clean -- unlike my office.
I'm quite busy this fall. I'm teaching two sections of Business Information Systems, one section of Intro to Business Microcomputing, a section of Survey of Information Systems and a section of a new course -- E-commerce.
I am the primary investigator for a Stay
and Invent PA Grant and am currently mapping out a project to bring middle
school students onto our campus later in the fall to take part in four days of
intensive technology training.
Two of my MIS students, Don Kemick and Jeremy Callinan are doing some very interesting research in the area of steganography. I'm providing some guidance but they need very little of it. The latest draft of their paper can be found here. Jeremy and Donny will be presenting their paper at the Penn-York undergraduate research conference in November hosted by my alma mater -- Canisius College. UPDATE: Jeremy and Donny's presentation was voted best oral presentation at the conference!!!!
I am mentoring three other MIS students -- Amy Ward, Barry Larson and Kyle Burgess are doing website work and training for Evergreen Elm -- a local non-profit agency. We'll see how their website evolves.
Professor Tim Ziaukas and I have started our work and research on the Internet and the 2004 election. We have started to do weekly captures of the democratic candidates' sites and since President Bush has recently announced his bid for re-election, we'll be adding his site also.
